These extra-large sheets of our Degener Black paper were commissioned by artist Jenene Nagy. To form our 30x40” sheets, we pour pulp directly into a deckle box that sits on top of the mould. Once the sheets were pressed and air-dried, we treated the surface with multiple layers of both indigo dye and black walnut dye to create our signature inky black. Each sheet was finished with gelatin sizing before flattening.
